 3. Neroli Essential Oil (Citrus aurantium ssp. amara)

Bitter Orange Blossom is highly antidepressant, antiseptic, tonic, spasmodic, fungicidal, healing and sedative. One of the most precious and rare oils in aromatherapy. It is used in many popular perfumes, including the famous and seductive Chanel N°5.

It got its name by a princess, Anne Marie Orsini, princess of Nerola, Italy, who lived in the 17th century. This lady was the first to use and introduce this product, which is made from the blossom of the bitter orange tree and has a honey-like sweetness to it with some spicy tone. The prize for this oil is ‘royal’ too, it costs around $140 for 5-ml or $1.40 per drop.

4. Sandalwood Essential Oil‎

The oil of sandalwood is extracted by steam distillation from the remains of the wood with the same name. Due to the richness of antioxidants, it is added to skincare products because it slows down the process of aging and relaxation of the skin. Diluted in vegetable oil is used to massage the body, as it affects the relaxation of the muscles and relieving cramps. It establishes a spiritual balance.

Used in cosmetics, perfume making, and Ayurvedic medicine, this product is recommended by many experts. Considering this tree is produced only in India and that it is the second-most expensive tree in the world, and especially because the process of making the oil is pretty complicated, its prize is pretty high – for 30 grams you will have to pay around $500.

If you are into aromatherapy, or just simply want to feel good and smell nice, then you will probably want to use a perfume made from essential oils. The perfumes made from essential oils, besides the scent, have a therapeutic effect, so that, apart from the fine fragrance, you can relax with perfumes, fill yourself with energy, and even purify the respiratory tract.

Indeed, essential oils help balance the body, mind, and spirit. When we smell something, olfactory receptors send a message to the limbic system which is associated with our feelings, mood, and instincts. Knowing that fragrances are related to our memories and feelings, we can accordingly associate them as a personal benefit. Each aroma and scent can create a specific psycho-emotional effect and provide healing therapeutic properties. All in all, perfumes can give us a completely holistic experience.

Take a look at some of the most used essential oils that can be used to make perfumes:

  1.  Jasmine Essential Oil
  2.  Lavender
  3.  Rose petal
  4.  Lemon Balm (Melissa)
  5.  Bergamot

1. Jasmine

The use of jasmine is relatively limited. It is mainly used for perfumes making. Its smell works down on the human psyche and also has the properties of an aphrodisiac. The aroma of the oil is sweet and relaxing. Jasmine essential oil combines nicely with citrus fruits, charcoal oils such as blue cypress and sandalwood.

2. Lavender

One of the most popular medicinal herbs spread all over the Mediterranean. Bulgaria is the largest producer of this amazing herb. The name “lavender” is “followed” by the Latin ‘lavar’ because it was a custom for the Romans to put lavender leaves and flowers in the water before bathing. Famous for its medicinal properties, lavender has always been used for wound healing and pain relief. Lavender has an intense floral-wood scent, its spectrum is quite wide, more precise it could be described as a floral, grassy, balm, woody with notes of camphor. The lavender essence is obtained by steam distillation of fresh flowers. Read more about this multi-beneficial herb here: Lavender Essential Oil, Usage and Benefits

3. Rose petal

The goddess of the Flora created a beautiful flower and it smacked the entire Olympus with its smell. None of the Gods was indifferent, but all of them crucified to give something to this gentle plant.

Aphrodite gave it name and beauty, Dionysus sweet nectar, three cherries of charm, and the western wind Zefir took off the clouds so that Apollo could approach it. And the rose from the touch of the most beautiful among the gods began to bloom.

One day, 5,000 years ago, rose found its way to humans, and her first earthly habitat was China. From there, it spread across all world gardens and then settled in soaps, creams, and perfumes.

Rose-based preparations tighten the skin, restore her youth and shine, and they also have healing properties. The rose petals bath is soothing, while the coats are excellent for tired and swollen feet.

Perfumes made from Fragrance Oils

4. Melissa (Lemon Balm)

We are so proud to be one of the main producers of this beautiful herb and its essential oil, which is known for its healing and aromatherapy properties. You can check more about Melissa oil and its benefits in the following article: Top 5 Benefits of Using Melissa Essential Oil

5. Bergamot

Bergamot (Citrus bergamia) is one of the most popular raw materials in making perfumes. This little tree, named after the town of Bergamo in the north of Italy, is grown exclusively for the production of a fragrant essential oil that dominates many, both female and male perfumes. The most famous oil is produced in Calabria, in the south of Italy. Aromatherapists claim that it is of great help to people who are not interested in life and everyone who does not have enough self-confidence.
The fresh citrus aroma of bergamot oil, with mild floral admixture, is well combined with almost all scents, especially sandalwood, lavender, jasmine, and gardenia. Essential oils of bergamot are well combined with other citrus oils, from lemon to grapefruit, and a particularly seductive combination is obtained by mixing with rose or geranium. Perfumery bergamot is mostly used in floral, woody, and oriental compositions.

Imperial pear, as bergamot is also called, the fruit of the crossing of pearl lemon and Seville orange, improves mood and defends the body against stress. Modern perfume alchemists say that the morning is the best time of the day to use this perfume. This way, we will be in a good mood all day. Does this claim have a scientific basis? Probably not. Should we try it? Probably yes. The sunny scent on a sunny morning will probably elicit the sun on our faces too.

No matter which of these fragrance oils you prefer and use, all of them are simply divine. A couple of drops can make your day brighter and lighter.
